You may update your course section default media settings, as well as set customized settings per student via the Student Interaction Settings page.
Navigate to Student Interactions Settings Page
Select one of the following two navigation paths to locate the Student Interactions Settings page:
1. On your Dashboard, locate the desired course section and click on the gear (⚙️) icon. Then, select Student Interaction Settings from the drop down menu.
2. Go to your Gradebook and click on the Roster menu to locate the Student Interaction Settings link.
Set Individual Student Settings
On the Student Interaction Settings page course owners and co-instructors may set values for each setting on a per student basis.
- As needed, use the Video Subtitles and Closed Captions (CC) and Video Transcripts drop-down menus to customize settings per individual student.
- As needed, select the checkbox for Audio Transcripts per individual student to enable/disable this setting.
- Changes are saved automatically and will override the default settings for the course section per individual student.
- An onscreen confirmation message displays when changes are applied.
Set Course Section Default Settings
On the Student Interaction Settings page, select the Manage Default Settings link to configure default values to apply to your course section.
- In the modal popup, use the Video Subtitles and Closed Captions (CC) and Video Transcripts drop-down menus to select the desired default setting for the course section.
- In the modal popup, select the checkbox for Audio Transcripts to enable/disable this setting for the course section.
- In the modal popup, you may override any per student custom settings by selecting the checkbox Apply settings to all students.
- Click Save to apply settings to your course section.
